Biography

Danny, a San Francisco Bay Area native, has achieved success as a touring lead guitarist, studio musician & songwriter. Drawing early inspiration from his first exposure to The Beatles at 7 years old, he picked up a guitar, learned 3 chords and wrote his first song. At age 10 his parents bought him his first electric guitar and things took off from there with the formation of his first band in junior high.

First Gig!

While in High school in Alameda, Danny met drummer Tom 'Fee' Falletti and they soon formed their high school band Gangster. From there, both went on to play with popular San Francisco blues pianist Stu Blank. Shortly after working with Stu, Chauncey joined the band Mistress & within a year they landed a contract with RSO Records.

MISTRESS

While on a break from Mistress in 1979, Danny went to a nightclub to sit in with the Alameda All Stars, a band consisting of local musicians (including high school friend Brad Gillis, soon to be of Ozzy Osborne and Night Ranger fame) & shortly Danny became part of the band. The Alameda All Stars ended up becoming very popular, eventually serving as Gregg Allman’s backup band and they are still together to this day.

“It served us all well as an amazing side gig that continued on with a wide array of talented players, even as Brad and I fulfilled our touring commitments & recording obligations.”

Brad Gillis

During his time with Mistress Danny met Tom Johnston of the Doobie Brothers which led to starting up another band, Border Patrol which was “a blast but expectedly short-lived because the Doobies were heading back out on the road. Great memories!”
